Assalaamu alaykum warahmatullah,
I’ve had to stop answering questions for the last month or so, just from being snowed under with work.
A few updates for you all:
- In shaa Allah, I’m going to get through the backlog of over a hundred comments which I need to reply to, over the next few days.
- I’m going to set some time to revamp the website, to cover more universities, and generally update the information, in shaa Allah, within the coming week.
- The electronic application for Madinah university is coming close to be ready to go live. I have submitted FAQs for the official site, and will soon post them here as well, for your comments.
- The university seems now to be accepting requests from students to bring their wives, on the condition that the students are from countries in which Muslims are a minority, like Europe, the US, etc. They are currently accepting applications – so any students who are married should go and submit their papers. This seems to be a temporary measure to cope with the massive influx of new students this year, and requires the student to sign a pledge that they will not ask the university for any form of help and support, and will take full responsibility for the consequences of bringing their wives.
Finally, I am looking for brothers to help maintain this site. I would love to be able to respond to every question within a day or two, but often the response time is more like 2-4 weeks, simply because of the other projects I’m involved in. I also really need a brother from Makkah and a brother in Riyadh, so if anyone knows of someone who might be willing to help, please forward their details to me.
May Allah reward those who have posted comments and are having to be a little patient while I get round to replying to them all.
Baarak Allahu feekum,
Wassalaamu alaykum,
Muhammad

A question, around october 2009 I’ve applied for Madinah for 2010-2011. But now, in a couple of months I’m going to marry inshAllah.
Well now, I’ve been thinking, what if they do accept my application. Might there be any problem of being married? Because in the form I’ve mentioned that I’m single (which I’m still). Can you please help me or give me some advise on this issue.

Wa alaykumussalaam warahmatullahi wa barakaatuhu,
It’s no problem at all what you write on your application form, but make sure you know about life as a married student. Take a look at the page for married students if you haven’t already,
May Allah make it easy for you,
Wassalaamu alaykum warahmatullah,
Muhammad
Assalaamu ‘Alaykum,
JazakAllaahu Khayr akhee, May Allaah reward you abundantly for all your efforts…Aameen!

My name is A. Islam (don’t want to disclose full name…but inshaAllaah I’m sure you can figure out who it is)

Wa alaykumussalaam warahmatullah,
I already replied to one of your other posts. I think I covered everything, but let me know if you still have any questions,
Wassalaamu alaykum warahmatullah,

Slmz, what about female married students or female single students…does the above apply as well? Also where can we access application forms, bursary information, and info on cost of Studies in Saudi?
Does South Africa fall under countries with a minority Muslim population… you mentioned US & Europe… Jzk for your efforts and interest in this issue …may Allah reward you well Inshallah.
Wa alaykumussalaam.
At the moment, all of the information that I have regarding the sisters’ facilities is on the sisters’ page. There isn’t any major news in terms of accepting female students, or accepting women along with their husbands. In shaa Allah, this will come when the women’s dept. is opened, which seems to be at least 2 years away, probably more. The only progress at the moment is for current students who want to bring their wives. This may only be a temporary measure to clear some space in the uni for the thousands of new students due to be accepted next year.
As far as I know, I have only heard of the US and Europe being mentioned. It’s pretty hard to get a clear answer, but in shaa Allah, I’ll see what I can find out.
I’m pushing to find out more information about universities that accept women, and then post application forms etc. Keep an eye on the “other universities” page, when it is updated.
Wassalaamu alaykum,
Muhammad

Wa alaykumussalaam warahmatullah,
I think I’ve got Madinah pretty well sorted for now, in shaa Allah, especially with the revision of the information on the website, although when I graduate next term I’m going to need a plan, but I think I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. My real concern is Makkah & Riyadh. I’ve got in touch with a brother in Makkah who might be willing to help, I’m waiting for him to reply.
